Hi! Thanks for stopping by for the very first parent project!
This will be a two part session.
1. Topic & Discussion with some research
2. The Parent Project
So here it is:
1. Topic -- The importance of a schedule / routine
2. The Parent Project -- create a something over the course of the next month that will help you improve your schedule and routine!
E.g. menu, a visual schedule, or a family calendar/planner.
Let all the people in your family to participate!
The image below is what a school schedule would look like.

The next image below is something you could do at home.

So, at home what can we do to get our children and ourselves on a schedule and routine that is convenient and easy for us?
1. Find out what your priorities are as a family and the priorities of each individual in your family.
2. Keep it simple! We are all busy. Some busier than others but seriously keep it simple! But most people find that visuals help so a calendar or marker board or just a simple sticky note on the door will help!
3. Once you figure out what will work for you and your family (of course after discussion with your family -- communication is key!) - start getting organized! Use those strategies and visuals to help you organize and get in a routine / schedule.
Here’s some research (for any of you out there like me who love this kind of stuff— nerd alert!):
